Tucked Flashkick - Extreme Martial Arts
Welcome to Flash Mavis online instruction
on how to do the small Flashkick.
A Flashkick is a backflip where you split the legs in the air. There
are two variations of the flashkick.
a) Tucked and from a standing position.
b) Straight like a layout from a roundoff or after a b-handspring.
In this lesson you will learn the flashkick variation ( a.)
Before you try this flip, you should be able to do a backflip from a standing position and
the back handspring stepout. You can find more gymnastics instructions at gymnastics main.

- Kick up your straightened right leg and bend your left leg while you whip down your arms to or behind your hips.
- Land on your right leg first and lift your arms
again.
Trainer advice: Tucked Flashkick - Extreme Martial Arts
- Don't try the flashkick if you cannot to a backflip.
- A good method to learn the small Flashkick:
First to back handsprings and land on your right leg only.
Of course you still have to jump off from both legs together.
This is to get used to the landing on one leg.
- Then do backflips from a standing position and push your knees slightly apart when
you are in the air. ( one knee forward, one backward )
Start pushing apart you knees only a few inches.
Don't grab your shins wth your hands anymore.
When you do a flashkick, you have to whip down your straightened arms towards your
hips or even behind your hips. ( behind your hips to create even more momentum )
- If your flashkick is very good, you can throw up a soccer ball before you jump and kick it
in the air with a flashkick. If you wanna try this be careful.
At the beginning you should throw the ball forward and do a flashkick shortly after
without the ball in your way.
( without hitting the ball )
Or kick the soccer ball with a backhandspring...
However, this is nothing for beginners.
- Learn the backflip layout and the flashkick layout.
