Shiko Tachi - Karate

The shiko tachi, also called square stance, is a position similar to the karate kiba tachi. The only difference is that the toes point to another direction. Find more karate techniques at karate main. Practice the karate square stance as follows.

Description: Shiko Tachi - Karate

  • Feet about 2 shoulder widths apart and toes point away from your body.
  • Thighs approximately 45° over horizontal level. Knees point slightly out.
  • Upper body upright.

Trainer advice: Shiko Tachi - Karate

  • Try to hold the square stance for a few minutes.
