Nunjutsu

Ninjutsu is a japanese martial art that in contrast to other martial arts also involves skills like:
horse riding, swimming skills, military strategy, espionage etc.
( find a complete list of ninjutsu disciplines below )
At the beginning the ninja clans ( ninja => ninjutsu practicioner ) used their skills to survive
in violent times. Some chinese claim that ninjutsu originally comes form china,
because before jujitsu was founded in japan, similar skills were practiced in china and the practicioners were caled "REN ZHE" which translated into japanise is "NINJA".
But at this time the it was the practitioner who was called " renzhe = ninja " but there was no official ninjitsu style in China. Furthermore the chinese renzhe-skills were never developed as far as the japanese nija skills. When some ninja clans started accepting money for their sevices, this lead to the prejudice that all ninjas are just assasins. When firearms replaced swords, spears the services of ninjas were less and less claimed. But the skills of ninjutsu were conserved and since the 70s ninjutsu is also practiced outside of japan. Israel and the U.S. were the first places where ninjutsu schools were opened.

Trainer advice: Ninjutsu

  • Most Ninjutsu schools don't offer the full program.
Here are a few modern styles and sports that can replace or complement some ninjutsu disciplines.
    • Wushu spear & staff skills. If you learn wushu staff or spear techniques instead of ninjutsu spear and staff techniques,
make sure you don't learn a modern style. Modern styles are about appearance and not about applications.
      Ninjutsu is only about applications.
    • Parkour - Free Running Skills
    • Japanese freehand fighting and throwing skills: Judo, Karate, Jujitsu.
    • Gymnastics - For overall coordination and agility.
    • All japanese martial arts.
