Switch Leg Leaps - Wushu Plyometrics

The switch leg leap is a good exercise to increase your vertical leap fast.
This exercise comes from chinese wushu.
( chinese martial artists use the switchleg leap to increase thier vertical leap for acrobatic jumps)
This exercise is also suitable for 100 m sprinters.

 

 

Description: Switch Leg Leaps - Wushu Plyometrics

  • Find a plateau of almost shin height.
  • Start with the left foot on the plateau.
  • Jump straight up and bring your legs together in the air.
    The leg on the plateau pushes off harder.
  • Switch legs and land on the balls of your feet.
    Now the right leg is on the plateau.
    Bounce off without letting your heels touch the ground and switch legs again when you are in the air.
  • Don't forget that the leg on the plateau almost creates 90 percent of the leap.
  • Depending on your fitness, do 20 to 50 repetitions

 

 

Trainer advice: Switch Leg Leaps - Wushu Plyometrics

  • Warm up at least 10 minutes.
  • Stop immediately if your achilles or your knees hurt.
