Capoeira - Armada Partner Exercise

This video shows a partner exercise for the armada. The armada (lit: "Assault") is a spinning inside to outside capoeira crescent kick where you kick with the outside of the foot. For a more detailed video instruction, click here. Find more capoeira videos here.

Execution

  • Start from the ginga, face to face with a training partner.
  • Then throw an armada (outside crescent kick).
  • Your opponent escapes and counter-attacks with another armada immediately.
  • Take turns and kick at least 6 times in row.

Advice

  • Always warm up and stretch before you practice any capoeira kicks.
  • Practice the armada without training partner before you try this partner exercise.
  • This is an excellent exercise to improve timing and rhythm.
