Encruzilhada - Capoeira Back Sweep

Execution
- Start from the ginga and step forward with one leg.
- Then bend the knee of the leg you stepped forward with and put your hands on the ground.
- Bring your head very glose to the floor, so that you can see your opponent from between your legs. Keep looking at your opponent the whole time.
- Sweep with the other leg (heel first) and twist on the ball of the foot of the other leg.
- Then go back to the ginga and practice the other side.
Advice
- The capoeira back sweep is often used as a defense technique combined with a counter attack. For example when your opponent attacks you with an armada kick.
- Practice both sides of the encruzilhada.
