Piked Uphill Auersbach - Capoeira

This video shows "La Mosca" doing a uphill auersbach pike (with extended legs). This is not a typical capoeira technique, but since I taped this during a capoeira workout, I published it in here. For detailed capoeira video instructions, click here.

Execution

  • Do a round-off and land flat.
  • Bounce off the balls of your feet and and swing your arms up like if you were doing a normal back flip. Don't relax your abdominals and look straight forward for a moment.
  • Then grab your thighs and pike.

Advice

  • Learn the tucked uphill auersbach before you try the auersbach with extended legs.
  • Going uphill requires more strength, but technically it makes the auersbach easier.
