Wushu Side Stretchkick Video

This video shows how to do wushu side stretchkick. In Chinese (Mandarin) this kick is called "Ce Ti". The side stretchkick is one of the basic wushu kicks and should be practiced in every workout. Also check out the animated wushu section or go back to wushu videos main.

Execution

  • Keep both knees straight and turn your head when your foot gets closer to your head.
  • Keep your upper body straight and vertical.
  • Don't elevate the heel of the standing leg.
  • The down motion should be even faster than the up motion.

Advice

  • Stretch your hamstrings and your hips before you practice your wushu kicks.
  • Do 8 left kicks and then 8 right kicks.
  • I like practicing the side stretchkick after the straight stretchkick, but some wushu schools practice it after the slapkick (which would make it the last kicks).
