Wushu Slapkick & Arm Circle
This video shows how to do a wushu slap kick with arm circle. In Chinese (Mandarin) the wushu slapkick is called "Dan Pai Jiao" (Single Slap Foot) and "Luan Bi" is the circular arm movement before the kick. In your
wushu warm-up-routine this should be the last basic kick you practice. Also check out the animated wushu section or go back to wushu videos main.
Execution
- Start with the left leg in front of the right and extend the right arm in front of your chest.
- Step forward and start moving the right arm forward up in a circular motion.
- Do 2 steps and then slap your hands together in front of the head.
- Finally slap your right hand your foot together and then extend both arms like shown in the video.
- Check out the animated instruction for more information.
Advice
- Stretch your hips and your hamstrings before you practice any wushu kicks.
- Speed is very important. The up-motion has to be very fast, but the down-motion has to be even faster.
- Do 3 kicks per carpet length.
