Wushu Tan Ti - Toe Fist Kick Video

This video shows how to do a wushu toe fist kick. Practice the toe fist kick after the heel palm kick and before the wushu sweeps. In Chinese (Mandarin) this kick is called "Tan Ti". Also check out the animated wushu section or go back to wushu videos main.

Execution

  • The toe fist kick is one of the most basic wushu kicks and should be practiced in every training session.
  • Kick at hip height and extend your ankle.
  • When you kick with the right leg punch with your left hand and the other way around.
  • Don't elevate the heel of the standing leg and keep your upper body and the standing leg straight and vertically aligned.
  • Look straight forward and do 8 kicks in a row.

Advice

  • For isometric strength try to hold the tanti for a few seconds.
  • Do 8 kicks in a row.
  • Careful if you have knee problems.
