Wushu Outside Circle Kick - Wai Bai Tui

This video shows how to do a wushu outside circle kick. In Chinese (Mandarin) this kick is called "Wai Bai Tui". Practice the outside circle kick after the inside circle kick and before the wushu slapkick. Also check out the animated wushu section or go back to wushu videos main.

Execution

  • Look straight forward and don't elevate the heel of your standing leg when you kick.
  • The ankle of the kicking leg has to be extended.
  • Slap your foot into both hands and then extend your arms again.
  • Extend both knees and keep your upper body as straight as possible. Never round your back.

Advice

  • Do 8 kicks in a row.
  • Avoid this kick if you have hip problems.
  • Practice the outside circle kick after the inside circle kick.
