Wushu Straightsword - Up-Slice Video
This video shows how to do an up-slice movement with a
wushu straightsword. In Chinese (Mandarin) this is called "Liao Jian". Click here for more video instructions for the wushu straightsword.
Execution
- Start with your legs closed and your wushu sword over-hear (pointing to the left). Look to the left and put your left hand close to your right shoulder. (see video)
- Then step forward with your right leg and swing your sword down with the arm fully extended. The wrist goes first, the sword follows.
- After the first circle you bend your elbows for a short moment and initiate the second circle.
Advice
- Relax your wrist.
- The circles have the be very big and the slices fast.
In the middle, before you bend your elbow, you can slow down a little.
- Don't bend your elbow before and after that.
- Align the left right arm with your right arm. (see video)
