Wushu Whip - Double Forearm Wind
This video shows how to do a double forearm wind with a wushu whip chain. This is one of the easiest techniques for the "Jiu Jie Bian" (9 section wushu whip) and you can learn this right after the basic swings. Just make sure you always swing your
wushu whip chain in vertical layers and very close to your body. For more wushu whip chain instructions, click here, and don't forget to check out the animated whip chain section.
Execution
- Swing your wushu whip chain forward down and under your right forearm.
- Let the chain wrap around your forearm two times, and then turn to the left so that the wushu whip unwraps within two circles from the turn.
- Now, keep swinging your whip, so that it wraps around your forearm the other way. Again, wind your wushu whip around your forearm twice and then turn to the left.
- Start over.
Advice
- Keep your wushu whip as close as possible to your body.
- It takes 2 circles to wrap the chain around the forearm and 2 circles to unwrap it. So you basically do 4 circles and then turn.
- If you are afraid of hitting yourself, use a tennis ball and a cord.
- This exercise can scratch your forearm a little.
