What is Wushu ?
Wushu is the chinese martial art, also known as kung fu.
Only that the word "kung fu" is a misinterpretation and actually only means skill - "gong fu".
In the 60th, when wushu reached Hollywood, chinese martial artists
like Bruce Lee and his countrymen simply spreaded wushu as chinese
skill. That would be same if Jamie Oliver would spread his way of cooking
as british SKILL, until chinese people think that the english word "SKILL" means
cooking.
Typical: About Wushu
- Stretchkicks. Very fast straight flashy kicks to the forehead.
- Everything the shaolin monks show including weapons etc.
- Cartwheels without hands
- Horizontal pirouettes
- Spin and double spin kicks with split landings
- Very quick sweeps with up to 3 rotations in half a sec.

- Bruce Lee, ( Li Xiao Long ) who was a specialist at Sanda - chinese full contact martial arts.
- Jetli, ( Ji lian jie ) famous from Lethal weapon 4, hero, fong sai yuk and unleashed
- Jackie Chan ( Cheng Long ) Specialist for peking opera

- Samo Hung ( Hong Jin Bao )
- The Shoalin monks ( Not the real monks - only the artistic shaoling group )
