Xing Yi Quan (literally: "Form/Intention Boxing" or "Shape/Will Boxing") is the most aggressive of the three major internal Wushu styles. In Xing Yi Quan (or simply “Xing Yi”), practitioners use coordinated movements to generate explosive bursts of power to overwhelm their opponents. A distinctive feature of Wushu Xing Yi is that each attack is accompanied by a synchronized defensive technique. The movements are short but extremely fast.
Xing Yi Quan features many powerful and aggressive striking techniques.
Efficiency and precision are key in Xing Yi Quan forms. Strikes are direct, and no energy is wasted — the body moves as one unified structure.
The torso remains upright during almost all Xing Yi techniques.
Practitioners with experience in spear techniques are more likely to understand the mechanics of Xing Yi Quan quickly.
