Back Sweep - Wushu
The Wushu back sweep is a basic wushu leg technique, which should be practised in every training session. There are two different wushu sweeps; the front sweep and the back sweep. The Back sweep starts and ends in a bow stance. The rotation amounts 360°. The hands are allowed to touch the ground.
You should only know the stances before you learn the back sweep.
Technical description: Back Sweep - Wushu
- Stand in a bow stance, left leg forward, both hands forward. (arms parallel, elbows straightened, palms forward, fingertips up)
- Go into a low flat stance (pu bu) whil both hands move towards the right knee.
- This builds a tension in your torso, which you can use as an initial acceleration for the sweeping motion.
Touch the floor with your hands (unter your right knee) and release the tension from your torso to sweep backwards (clockwise - to the right side).
- Stop the rotation after 360 in a bowstance.
- Left palm straight forward, right crane straight back
Trainer advice: Back Sweep - Wushu
- Stretch out your bowstance and your flatstance.
- Stand up from a flat stance without using your hands to get a feeling of balance.
(Pu bu) Flat stance with left leg bendet und left foot firm on de floor.
The right foot slides closer while you stand up and the upper body stays more or less in a right angle to the floor.
