  • Anabolic steroids are also used to enhance athletic performance, but they are not considered supplements.
  • Sports supplements should be used to supplement your diet and not the other way around. You can eat vitamins to avoid deficiency or drink a protein shake in order to enhance your athletic performance, but you should not rely on supplements only. If you can choose between a protein bar and a real high protein meal, choose the real meal. If you go to the cinema and can choose between a chocolate bar and a protein bar, choose the protein bar.
