How to Stretch the Biceps

Do this biceps stretch between biceps exercises such as pull-ups, barbell biceps curls etc. This exercise stretches the shoulder muscles, the chest and the biceps. If you turn your hand around, you stretch your chest more than your biceps. Find detailed stretching advice and exercises at stretching main.

Execution

  • This is how you stretch your right biceps.
  • Stand upright and put your left hand a bit over shoulder height on a wall. The back of your hand has to be on the wall. Fully extend your elbow.
  • Then turn your upper body to the left (away from the wall).

Advice

  • If you turn your hand around, you stretch your chest muscles more than your biceps.
  • To stretch your biceps, you can also do this chest stretch and fully extend your arm. However. I recommend your also turn your hand around like shown in the above illustration.
  • This biceps stretch is not designed for dynamic stretches, isometric stretches and PNF. Biceps stretches should only be applied statically.
