Technical description: Pushups - Upper Body Strength
- Put both hands on the floor. Fingertips point straight forward. Hands appr. 2 shoulder widths apart. Elbows extended.
Contract your abs slightsy, so that your hips don't hang. ( don't hollow your back )
- Move down until your shirt touches the floor and inhale.
Move slowly and concentrated.
- Then push yourself back up and exhale. The up-movement can be a bit faster than the down-movement.
Trainer advice: Pushups - Upper Body Strength
- If you have to do a chest workout, but don't have weight lifting equipment nearby,
you can do pushups instead of benchpressing.
- If you can only do a few repetitions, place your hands on the flat floor.
If you can do more than 20 pushups, you can place your hands on something elevated, so that you can lower your chest
even further and the exercise becomes more intensive.
- Another trick to make the your pushups more intensive is trying to let your hands slide towards eachother on the floor.
Your weight will avoid that your hands actually slide, but your chest muscles will be contracted more )
