Use this chest stretch during warm-ups for gymnastics or between chest and shoulder exercises with weights, such as bench press, push-ups, etc. Find more stretching instructions at Stretching Main.
Execution
This is how you stretch the right side of your chest. To stretch the left side, simply reverse the movement.
- Stand upright and place your right hand on a wall or grab something slightly above shoulder height.
- The back of your hand should face away from the wall, and your elbow must be fully extended.
- To stretch your chest, slowly turn your upper body away from the wall. Keep your arm straight and move gently without rushing.
Advice
- If you rotate your hand so that the palm faces the wall, you will stretch your biceps instead of your chest.
- This chest stretch is not suitable for ballistic, isometric, or PNF stretching.
