How We Paid Our Dog for Starring in Our Films

Furiosa has starred in two of our short films now, and there is something we almost forgot about.

Her payment.

Since we all share one bank account in this family, money was not really an option. So we looked for other possibilities. She also loves cats, squirrels, and pretty much anything that runs for its life—but it just didn't feel right.

And then there was water.

She loves lakes, rivers, streams, puddles—you name it. She even loves the rain. In fact, when it starts raining, she runs around in circles like a mad dog, celebrating every drop. And if another dog gets too close while she's enjoying "her" rainstorm, she even gets jealous.

Yes, jealous of the rain.

So we decided her payment would be either a beach vacation in Brazil or a trip to the mountains.

She chose the beach.

The only problem was getting there.

Flying wasn't really an option. Furiosa has never been in a kennel, and boxers aren't allowed on some commercial flights. But no problem. We'd just drive there.

The good news was that her beach was only 2,800 km east of where we live.

The trip was worth every kilometer.
