Description: Okuriashi Harai – Judo

This tutorial is for an Okuriashi Harai to the left side. Of course, you can also perform this technique the other way around.

  • Grab the left side of your opponent’s uniform and place your instep around their leg/ankle.
  • Pull their uniform down and to the right while sweeping their legs to the left.
  • Move into a wide and low stance so that you don’t lose your own balance. Pull down your opponent and don’t release them too early.

Trainer Advice: Okuriashi Harai – Judo

  • Don’t release your opponent too early.
  • Don’t throw anyone who has no judo or wrestling experience.
