Shiko Tachi - Karate

The Shiko Tachi, also called the square stance, is a position similar to the karate Kiba Tachi. The only difference is that the toes point in a different direction. Find more karate techniques at Karate Main. Practice the karate square stance as follows:

Description: Shiko Tachi - Karate

  • Feet about 2 shoulder widths apart, with toes pointing away from your body.
  • Thighs approximately 45° above horizontal level. Knees point slightly outward.
  • Upper body upright.

Trainer Advice: Shiko Tachi - Karate

  • Try to hold the square stance for a few minutes.
