In this section, you will learn about the rules and scoring in modern wushu competitions. Your goal is to reach 10 points. Points are deducted from your total score for every mistake, poor form, or incorrect landing. To get closer to the perfect 10, you need to perform difficult techniques such as the butterfly twist, wushu whirlwind kick, and others. For detailed instructions on how to perform individual wushu techniques and difficulties, return to the wushu main page. For video tutorials, please check out the wushu video section.

Advice
When combining two difficulties in a wushu freestyle form, the higher-scoring technique should always be performed last. For example: a wushu whirlwind kick 540 followed by a butterfly twist 720 with a split landing.
Points will be deducted if your form is too long or too short.
