Calf Stretch - Pressing Against a Wall

Execution

  • Stand in a bow stance facing a wall, making sure your toes point straight forward.
  • Fully extend the knee of your back leg and place your hands on the wall so that your back leg, torso, and arms form a straight line.
  • Press your body against the wall, keeping the heel of your back leg on the floor to stretch your calf muscles.
  • Lower your hips at the same time to increase the stretch.
  • Hold this position for 15 to 30 seconds, then switch legs and repeat.

Advice

  • Always start your leg stretches by stretching the calf muscles.
  • This calf stretch is not suitable for ballistic or isometric stretching.
  • Always warm up for a few minutes before beginning any stretching routine.
