Di Tang Quan is a highly acrobatic, traditional wushu style that involves falling to the ground after executing various techniques and jumps. Movements are fast, and having a background in gymnastics can be very helpful when learning this style. It is strongly recommended that you practice all Di Tang Quan techniques on mats first.

The crashes in Di Tang Quan are performed on relatively hard surfaces. The only protection typically used is a thin carpet.
It's very important that your lower back and heels do not touch the ground first during falls.
Knee and elbow protection is allowed under the uniform.
