Can I train in a class with chinese students ?

If you want to, the school will allow you to train in a class with Chinese students. Usually, foreign students get a private instructor, but if you want to learn modern wushu or acrobatics, I recommend attending a class with Chinese students. It’s more fun, and you will probably learn faster because you can see how everything is done.

Even if you work out with a private wushu instructor, you should do the morning training with a wushu or sanda class. In the morning, most classes just run, stretch, and do plyometric exercises.

Additional advice: Training in a class with Chinese students

If you plan to train in a class with Chinese students, ask Lichen before you go to China. Tell him what you want to learn and how old you are. Of course, you can also take private lessons in addition.

If you want to learn something very specific, I recommend asking Lichen to make arrangements before you arrive at the school. Song Jiang Wushu School focuses on modern wushu, but they also teach traditional styles. If you want to learn three-section staff, nanquan, or eagle style, there is no problem. Many instructors know these styles, but some traditional styles are hard to find.

However, the school has very good connections, and instructors come from all over China to teach at Song Jiang. To make sure a good instructor will be available, inform them in advance.
