Shuai Jiao is a Chinese martial art (wushu) that means wrestling. The Mandarin term "Shuai Jiao" specifically refers to traditional wrestling as practiced in China and Mongolia. Chinese and Mongolian wrestling are very similar. Shuai Jiao is basically like Judo, except the fight is over once a competitor touches the mat with their hands, knees, or hips. Chinese wrestling is not about locking the opponent on the ground; it’s all about throwing or smashing them to the ground. That’s why Shuai Jiao throws often look more powerful than Judo throws.
