Sports Injuries

There’s nothing worse for an athlete than being forced to pause due to an injury.
Among all injuries, fractures are not always the worst. While a broken bone usually heals within 3 to 6 weeks, tendon and nerve injuries take much longer to recover.

Because these injuries don’t require a plaster cast, many athletes return to training too soon, which slows down the healing process.

One of the most serious types of injuries are nerve injuries. For example, when a nerve is overstretched (often happening during a shoulder dislocation) or when a nerve becomes detached, the affected muscles or muscle groups can remain paralyzed for a long time — sometimes even permanently.

Other common sports injuries include:

  • Ruptures
  • Inflammations
  • Deformations
  • Joint wear and tear
